October 12, 2020

We are wrapping up the first nine weeks of school and I feel very blessed that we have had the opportunity to have students in school the entire time.  A variety of procedures have been implemented to allow us to continue this way. I want to thank everyone for their patience and understanding.  Thank you to families who have kept their children home who have had two or more symptoms “just in case”.  I feel we are all doing our part to ensure that we can provide the best education for our children.  There are a couple of upcoming events that the district will need to hold differently to continue in this direction.

The first event is the 7-12 band concert coming up on Monday, October 19.  The concert will be split into two events, with the Junior High (grades 7th and 8th) starting at 6:00p.m. and the High School starting at 7:00p.m.  This will give Junior High parents, community members, and students the opportunity to leave the building after the concert.  We will let High School parents and community members in at 6:45p.m. for the 7:00p.m. High School concert.  It will be a slightly longer evening for people that want to watch both concerts and you will need to stay in your seats during the intermission.  The band and choir will be located on the west side of the gym allowing use of both sets of bleachers to provide the best opportunity for social distancing.  If you would rather stay at home and watch, we will live stream the concert using the school’s Facebook page.

The second event that will be different are Parent-Teacher conferences to held on Tuesday, October 27 from 3:30-8:30. This event will be held virtually to limit exposure.  Elementary teachers will send out notes to parents to sign up for a time slot.  Please return the note back with the best phone number to call.

High School parents will receive a link during the week of October 19 to schedule a time to meet.  Teachers will also be contacting parents of students that may be at risk individually.  If all time slots for a teacher are filled, please contact the teacher to schedule a conference at another time.
