Girls' Golf Results at New Salem Tournament:
The girls placed second as a team. Kara Schantz tied for 4th with a 91 and Courtnee Soupir finished 10th with a 107.
Meal change for Thursday and Friday:

Mr. Harley Klaudt will be going into the 5/6 classrooms on Friday to see if anyone is interested in football this fall and handout pads/helmets.
The first practice will be on Monday, August 23rd after school at the elementary playground.

Due to projections of the temperature being close to 100 degrees tomorrow, and the fact that the 5/6 GBB team will be practicing on the tennis courts, we will not be having 5/6 GBB practice on Wednesday.
We will be practicing on Thursday, when uniforms will be issued for team pictures on Friday.
Girls' golf results:
Last Thursday at the Bowman Invitational: Team placed 2nd with a score 428 and Kara Schantz placed 4th with a score of 92.
Killdeer Invitational: The tournament was shortened to 9 holes because of the heat. Team placed 2nd with a score of 218. Kara Schantz and Courtnee Soupir tied for 6th with scores of 50 and Lizzie Bachler finished 10th with a score of 56.

With the school start being delayed until Wednesday, we will not begin grades 5 & 6 girls basketball practice or 7 & 8 volleyball practice until Wednesday after school.
Football practices will be:
Monday at 3:30 for 45 minutes (shirt, shorts, and helmets only). Team photo at 3:30.
Tuesday morning at 8:00.
Grades 9 - 12 volleyball practice:
Monday at 3:00.
Tuesday morning at 8:00.
Stay cool and properly hydrated.
With the extreme heat forecasted for Tuesday, we will start school on Wednesday, August 18. I realize that this will be a inconvenience for some, and for that I apologize, but when we have temps of 100+ two days in a row, the building cannot cool down enough which in turn, makes a miserable learning environment.
Coaches will be contacting student-athletes regarding changing practice times.
Thank you to all the 6th grade parents that were able to attend the meeting last night! I hope it was helpful and I very much appreciate all of your questions and input. We are working hard to work out all the kinks and appreciate your understanding and patience. Just a reminder that 6th grade students can come straight over to the high school at 8:00 and go to their classrooms. If your student eats breakfast, they can walk over to the high school when they are done, but I will also be outside when the bell rings to ensure the 6th graders get to their destination. Girls' golf results from the first meet this fall:
The team placed second with a score of 440. Kara Schantz placed 5th with a score of 102 and Courtnee Soupir placed 6th with a score of 108. Rounding out the scores was Lizzie Bachler and McKenzie Gerving with 115s each and Madi Thompson with a 131. Rebecca Reiner shot 79 in her first junior high event. Nice job ladies!
Grades 5 & 6 girls basketball practice will be held on the tennis courts at PVE due to a wedding dance/reception occupying the auditorium the first week of school (August 17 - 20).

The Great Plains Food Bank Mobile Food Pantry will be stopping in New Salem TODAY Wednesday, July, 28 from 4:00 – 5:15 pm. See attached flyer. We plan to come every other month on the 4th Wednesday in 2021 – July, September, November!
