New Salem-Almont Parents: Please encourage kids to use sidewalks and the crosswalk when walking to school. It is still dark outside in the mornings and we want to make sure our students get to school safely everyday. Thank you for your support!

As school starts back up on Monday, we wanted to share a few reminders about sickness and school. With so many winter illnesses going around, we’re doing our best to keep students and staff healthy, and to make sure anyone who isn’t feeling well has time to rest and recover at home.

Today we had a special guest chef—Officer Tommy! He treated the students to pancakes with chocolate chips baked inside. Thank you to Renae and her staff for allowing us to help out.
During breakfast, I had the chance to sit with a group of second-grade girls. One of them shared that she loves Christmas because everyone is smiling and her entire family will be coming to visit. I hope everyone is able to find some time over break to enjoy being with family.
Thank you for your continued support, and Merry Christmas from all of us at New Salem-Almont School!
Note: Reminder that tomorrow (Tuesday), we dismiss at 1:00PM.
New Salem–Almont will be in session today. This decision was made after driving the roads north of town, speaking with two patrons who live south of town, and reviewing the current forecast.
As always, the decision to send your child to school is a parent choice. If you feel road conditions are not safe, we completely understand. Students will still be welcome to attend the PVE concert this evening.
Buses will be leaving slightly later than normal, as additional daylight was needed to make the final determination. Bus drivers also understand that they have the authority to turn around if they feel road conditions are unsafe.
