New Salem-Almont School District

PVE Parents: On Wednesday the 13th at 6:15 in the lunchroom, Mrs. Bennett will host a short presentation on the new grading system we will use starting in the fall. PVE is still going to be Standards Based, but will change from the AP, P, PP, N to using more specific numbers from 0.5-4.0. A video with the information will be posted to the New Salem-Almont Schools website for you to view if you are unable to make the meeting.

A reminder to fill out the survey if you have kids that will be riding the in-town route. This route is different as you will not need to contact the bus driver or school if your child will not be riding. Our bus drivers will have the list of possible riders and will arrive approximately at 7:55AM and wait until 8:00AM. Students are then dropped off after school approximately at 3:20PM.

NSA HS will be holding preregistration for high school students on the following dates:

Thursday August 7th
Grades 11 & 12 - 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Grades 9 & 10 - 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Tuesday August 12th
Grades 11 & 12 - 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
Grades 9 & 10 - 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

If these dates do not work, please reach out to Mr. Olson and set up a time.

6th Grade, 7th Grade, and 8th Grade schedules will be handed out during the open house held on Wednesday, August 13th from 4:30 - 6:30 pm

There are some free books from the HS library for give-away this week, they will be located right outside the front high school door.

A few reminders before school starts-
*All athletes in grades 7-12 need a sports physical before the first day of practice. 6th Graders who will participate in a JH activity will also need a physical.

*Please make sure your child(ren) are up to date with immunizations

*If you or someone you know is new to the school district, please call Kayla at the high school- 843-7610 or Sherri at PVE- 843-7823 to register your child.

Attention parents of students entering kindergarten this fall: Please make sure to email Mrs. Bennett at Lauren.bennett@k12.nd.us to let us know if your child will be attending Kindergarten Bootcamp in a few weeks. If you have a child going into kindergarten and you haven't received the Kindergarten Bootcamp letter, please email Mrs. Bennett so she can get you on the list and the information out to you ASAP. Youth Football Announcement

Now Hiring: Part-Time Kitchen Staff New Salem-Almont School District is seeking two part-time kitchen workers for the upcoming school year. Hours: 10:00 AM – 1:00/1:30 PM (Monday–Friday) If you're interested or would like more information, please contact Renae Bleth at (701) 400-0837.

Attention Summer Reading Participants "In addition to the participation book and freezie that every student who participates will receive, students who meet their reading goal will also receive a voucher for a Free Cone from Rud's Mobil and a surprise extra prize that will be received the first week of school!"
