At the Board meeting this evening, we discussed making up school on December 22, however looking at the projected forecast of a 2-4 inches snow along with increasing winds Wednesday into Thursday, it's just not worth it knowing we may have to have a late start or worse.
Therefore, our last day of school is Wednesday, December 21 and we will run a normal length day.
I apologize for the change in plans again, but we felt that this was the best course to follow. In the coming month or two, the Administration and Board will reassess days we may miss and make decisions on those days.
Stay safe and warm!

Please send it back to school with a parent signature on completed activities along with all the other work they have done from home. If the Choice Menu Board has been lost or misplaced, please reach out to your child's teacher for a virtual copy. We hope you are staying safe and warm while learning at home!

Due to the deteriorating road conditions and the projected storm, New Salem-Almont Schools and Head Start will not have school tomorrow (Tuesday). Students will have distant learning tomorrow and any days that are missed during this storm.
The schoolwork will range from assignments sent home to meeting/working virtually. An important note, many high school students have at least one online course, these students can work ahead, or in some cases are behind in assignments and can use this time to catch up. The only online work they cannot do at home are the tests.
If you have question about a class, please reach out to the teacher, his/her email can be found under the staff directory at
https://www.new-salem.k12.nd.us/.
We understand that distant learning is not the preferred method of learning, however we feel that there are times where it can be beneficial. The administration will review the outcome of this week's distant learning to determine if we are meeting our objectives. Please contact Brian.Christopherson@k12.nd.us with any comments regarding the distant learning.

With road conditions continuing to deteriorate, the 6-12 concert is POSTPONED tonight and will be moved to Tuesday, December 20 at 7:00PM.

The boys basketball games scheduled for Tuesday, December 13 against Wilton-Wing have been postponed. They have been rescheduled for Saturday, February 11, 2023.

The 7/8 girls basketball games scheduled at Washburn for Tuesday, December 13 have been cancelled.
