A couple reminders before school starts today: 1. Please return your choice board and any work that was completed on separate pieces of paper to your teacher today. This will be counted as attendance for yesterday. 2. Please send snow pants, boots, winter coats, hats, and gloves to school today. It's going to remain pretty cold and there will be a lot of snow on the playground. We want to make sure students are nice and warm as they play outside. Hopefully the first snow day of the season went well for everyone! There might still be kinks to work out, but we will work hard to work through them. Thank you!

NSA will be sending buses out and we will have school, 2 hours late. Please communicate with your driver if he/she should not go down your driveway or if a road by your place may be impassable. Understand, with the road conditions, bus drivers were told to use caution and thus they may be running behind when picking up students. We understand completely if you do not feel comfortable sending your child to school.

Good morning, Due to the current and forecasted weather, NSA and Headstart will not have school today. We will use our distance learning plan with specifics following this post. I believe we could have started the day on time but with the weather forecast, I did not want to scramble and hope that we could get our kids back home safely today.

It’s that time of the year for our annual post about school closures due to inclement weather. Here are the things you can expect: 1. We won’t always get the decision to close or let out early correct, but we will always error on the side of safety for our students and staff. 2. You can expect to be informed the night before by 9:00PM or in the morning by 6:30am. 3. You will be informed via our all-call system, school website and Facebook. It will also be posted on KFYR and KX stations. 4. We base our decision on a number of factors including visibility, road conditions, and the track and timing of the weather event. We also communicate with nearby school districts and county departments. 5. Our distance learning plan will look different for each building. PVE’s distance learning plan includes choice boards for unexpected weather events and work packets when there is a “planned” weather event. Teachers will have live virtual meeting every snow day regardless of being unexpected or planned. 6. The distance learning plan for grades 6-12 includes teachers posting assignments to google classroom or emailing them to students by 9:00 am. All 6-12 teachers will have an assignment for each virtual day. Virtual meetings will be held with certain class groups each day over Google Meet. Detailed information for both schools will be sent out each day we miss school on the school’s website and Facebook account. 7. Expect delays in busing during subpar conditions and please communicate with your driver often. Make sure driveways are cleared; bus drivers make the final decision on where to drive. Please reach out with questions if you have any. An easy way to get in touch is to message this page. We’d much rather you hear something from us rather than speculate/guess and not be correctly informed. Thank you, Mr. Christopherson
