The New Salem-Almont third grade class is hosting a second annual farmers market community service project. We are looking for donations of fruits, vegetables, or other items that would typically be sold at a farmers market. If you have any items that you would like to donate to our class, please send an email to savannah.norton@k12.nd.us or tyra.schiele@k12.nd.us. We would like to once again have the students come pick some of the produce if possible, however, we also understand that’s not always an option. If you are interested in having the students come pick some produce, such as apples, pumpkins or other items, please let us know, and we would be more than happy to come do it. We will need all donations BEFORE September 18th and pickup or drop off can be coordinated with either Mrs. Norton or Miss Schiele by using the emails above or calling the school. Thank you in advance to anyone who’s willing to donate to our farmers market. Last year’s project was a huge success and we can’t wait to do this again! Thank you for supporting our students!

Varsity Football Game Streaming: The district has received questions about broadcasting football games via the NFHS network. The NFHS cameras in the gym have a quality picture and allow more fans to cheer on our teams. The NFHS cameras at football fields, however, lack the same quality. The biggest reason the wiring at Gaebe Field has not been updated to accommodate NFHS cameras is once the NFHS agreement is signed, we cannot utilize other companies to stream our football games during playoffs. The PSP network and other streaming services that offer play-by-play services along with the ability to zoom in and offer high quality viewing will not be able to be used if the NFHS agreement is signed. We are looking at utilizing a livestream for our home varsity football games and perhaps JH/JV as well but need to make sure the logistics are ironed out, including someone to video the game and a spot in the crow's nest. The Beulah radio station will be broadcasting the first home game. The community will be notified when the games are available via a livestream platform and/or radio. We appreciate your patience and continued support of our students on and off the field.

Welcome Back! With school starting tomorrow (Tuesday), bus drivers should have contacted you by now, with a few exceptions as we had the incorrect phone numbers for a couple of families. Mr. Kleinjan and Mr. Vander Wal will be taking over Wayne Holle's route. Gregg Klusmann will be driving Mr. Kleinjan and Mr. Vander Wal's old route. Otherwise, we have the same drivers as last year. In-town busing route and riders have been established, we will pick up the students on Spruce and 7th street between 7:55AM-8:05AM, right beside the new playground. The Spruce and 4th St. stop will be alongside Acton's house between 7:55AM and 8:05AM. Due to the large number of students riding on these routes, we will pick up the students that are at the stop and drop off the ones that get on the buses. We will have plenty of staff to help direct students to the right buses after school this week and in-town drop offs will take place around 3:20PM. If your son/daughter will not be riding the in-town bus, you do not need to contact the school or bus driver. I'm fielding a lot of great questions so please call or email Brian.Christopherson@k12.nd.us with any questions or concerns. Finally, remember not to drop off/pick-up students by the elementary's intersection or in the area indicated by bus only signs.
