The JH Volleyball game versus Glen Ullin/Hebron on Thursday (9/8) will be played in HEBRON at 5:00 central time.

New Salem-Almont Public School has three items for bids:
1. Precor Treadmill with 11,000+ miles
2. Brown storage shed (16' x 20') with an overhead garage door and entry door.
3. Tan storage shed (16'x20') with an overhead garage door.
The Bids should be placed in a sealed envelope, labeled accordingly and dropped off at the high school office by September 14, 3:00PM. Storage sheds must be moved off-site no later than October 1, 2022. The electricity will be disconnected by the school district.

Reminder of the pre-bid meeting for the new agricultural shop is tomorrow (9/1) at 9AM in the New Salem-Almont gym. If you or someone you know has a business that plays an important role in framing, electrical, plumbing, finishing and everything in between for a new building, please come and learn more about this project.

Due to a shortage of football officials, the varsity football game scheduled against Richardton-Taylor on Friday, September 23 has been changed to Thursday, September 22 at Richardton. Game time will be 7:00 central time.

Students that bring their lunch to school are more than welcome to grab a carton of milk before sitting down to eat. Sherri can charge the student account for .25 cents or the student can bring a quarter when they would like milk. Thank you!


In light of the substitute shortage, ESPB announces an additional way to become a substitute teacher. Beginning October 1, 2022, interim substitute licensures may be granted for substitute teachers with a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent (GED). The applicant must submit evidence of completion of the state-approved substitute training program, Frontline. The training is 12 modules and approximately 20 hours of work. The course covers professionalism, classroom management, student engagement, instructional strategies and working with at-risk students. The cost of the training is $180.00, which will be reimbursed by the school once you sub 10 days in the District. Applicants must also complete a BCI/FBI background check and pay an application fee. JH FB - The September 6 junior high football game versus Standing Rock has been cancelled.

Departure times for Kidder County on Tuesday, August 30:
*The 7th and 8th grade bus will leave at 2:00
*The A/B/C bus will leave at 3:20.
NOTE FOR PARENTS AND SPECTATORS:
Kidder County gymnasium will not open to the public until students are dismissed from school at 3:30 pm. The New Salem-Almont bus should park around the back (south) of the school to unload. Fan parking will be limited until approximately 3:45pm when staff and students are gone.

5/6 Grade Football Gear Checkout will be on Monday after school in the Wrestling room at the high school. Change of schedule:
First practice will be on Tuesday, August 30 after school as well as Wednesday and Thursday. No practice on Friday, September 2 or Monday, September 5.

The 7/8 volleyball at Kidder County on Tuesday, August 30 will now begin at 3:30, not the originally scheduled time of 3:45. The bus will depart at 1:45.
Kidder County has enough for two junior high teams, so we will be playing two starting 15 minutes earlier.

The New Salem-Almont School District invites local subcontractors to a pre-bid meeting on Thursday, September 1 at 9:00AM at the New Salem high school gym who would like to come and look over the new shop site prior to receiving bids. You will have an opportunity to look at existing conditions and get a better feel for the project. EngTech will be present to give a short presentation on the scope of the project and to answer questions.

The American Legion Post #91 and the New Salem Civic Club have graciously offered to pay for all K-12 NSA student activity passes for the 22-23 school year. All K-12 NSA students will get in free to regular season games beginning this Friday. Thank you to these two groups for making this possible!
Students in grades K-5 MUST be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian.

Just a reminder to the Class of 2022 Students that were recipients of a New Salem - Almont Dollars for Scholars Scholarships.
The Class of '51 Scholarships will be awarded to your college account after you have finished two semesters of college. All other scholarships will be awarded after you have finished one semester of college.
Make sure to notify Sherri Hulm or Amanda Wald if you change colleges.
