Anyone interested in being a substitute for a teacher or paraprofessional at New Salem-Almont? It's a great job as you can pick when you want to work. The state has granted waivers so you don't need a 4-year degree. Give Mr. Christopherson a call (843-7610) to learn more!

CTE Grant Update:
The due date for the grant is October 1 so we have one month to complete the application. Right now, we are still gathering data on students and CTE courses, needs assessment , and proving the ability to match the funds. The unofficial name of the Center is Heart River CTE Center with 5 to 6 local schools in the application process.
As we conclude the data portion part of the grant, we will include school board approvals, submit at the end of September and we should know the results by the end of October. The Heart River CTE will be applying for the maximum amount, 10 million. Though all school districts involved in the grant have many needs, this grant must be used for the purpose of a establishing a new CTE center, and for New Salem-Almont's part, a new shop. So regardless of what you hear, we have our fingers crossed and look forward building a new shop with the hope of adding more CTE courses down the road as the demand arises. I will be more than happy to discuss the proposed CTE Center with you, please give me a call at 843-7610.

The girls golf team had another great tournament, they took 2nd as a team at Pebble Creek with Kara Schantz taking 2nd and Lizze Bachler and Courtnee Soupir tied for 9th place individually.

NSA has two known positive cases of COVID-19, however no close contacts were established. We would like to remind everyone to stay home if you have a fever, new loss of smell or taste, or a cough that worsens. Essentially we are asking you to keep your son/daughter home if they are sick, something schools have asked parents to do for decades. We appreciate your support as we move forward with a new school year.
